All Japan Enduro R3-4 Hidaka 3days / JEC
Go on the road that ain’t even an actual course./ JEC R3-4 Hidaka 3days
Riding in the nature that’s not even an acutal course is the characteristic
of this enduro race in Hokkaido.
It was held in Hidaka for 3days this year.
This enduro race in Hidaka is called H.T.D.E sometimes,
which means Hidaka Two Days Enduro. It has 31years of history.
This race was known for “you are good if you could just finish”
But now it has evolved and become one race which was held as the recent MFJ JEC.
And this year, it was expanded and held for 3days.
It was raining on the second day and the “route” section
that doesn’t measure the time has changed in a hard one.
They have a time limit which is getting checked by
00:00 for this route section even though they don’t measure the time like a regular race.
You can’t complete this race without finishing this section.
They set 3 kinds of time limit which are A,B,C
and they set the level of easiness depends on the weather.

JEC / Japan Enduro Championship

6 #2 KugimuraTadashi + Honda CRF250R

7 #6 OhtaMasanari + KTM 250EXC

#1 SuzukiKenji + Yamaha WR250R / Rd.3_4th Rd.4_1st
JEC #1 SuzukiKenji + Yamaha WR250R / Rd.3_4th Rd.4_1st
#1 Kenji Suzuki used machine that is set up for public roads instead of using WR250R,
a machine exclusively usd for enduro and won R4 after he placed fourth in R3.
The picture is from the second day. #1 Kenji Suzuki in the enduro test area.

#1 SuzukiKenji + Yamaha WR250R / Rd.3_4th Rd.4_1st
The picture of #1 Kenji Suzuki slipped in the test area.
But he came back real fast after this.
An uphill start from here. Road surface is muddy and slippery and sucks a lot of power.
The soil in this area was really heavy and it already stuck on the tires,
so these tires didn’t grip at all.
But he started softly and once his machine started moving,
he fully accelerate and let it climb at pace.
I’m not sure if this is the right way to describe his riding style.
But to me it looks like he accelerated as if it wasn’t
already enough and let his machine go whererver it wanted, putting his body along with it.
However he always at full throttle even though his machine was set up for public roads,
making us nervous listening to the exhaust note.
He said,”The engine of this WR is really tough and I’m super confident about it!!
It didn’t break after 6days fully throttle in that “I.S.D.E” lol ”

#2 KugimuraTadashi + Honda CRF250R / Rd.3_1st Rd.4_3rd
#2 Tadashi Kugimura won R3 and wiped away bitter memories of last year,
but he regrettably captured third place in R4.
And he cancelled the third day because it didn’t have any impact on the point ranking.

#2 KugimuraTadashi + Honda CRF250R / Rd.3_1st Rd.4_3rd
His riding style is always wild.
He was at full throttle the whole time.
So we couldn’t keep up to take pictures most of the time. Sorry!
We wanted to capture his wildness with a camera though…

#3 UchiyamaYuutaroh + Yamaha WR250F / Rd.3_5th Rd.4_2nd
He doesn’t make major mistakes and even if he did , he comes back really fast.
He is a pure enduro rider.not from motocross.

#3 UchiyamaYuutaroh + Yamaha WR250F / Rd.3_2nd Rd.4_5th
Have you ever seen his body? His body is really bulky especially the muscle in his back.
I’ve been saying this whole time,
#3 Yuutaro is really photogenic wherever we take a picture from.
Usually I say “photogenic” when their riding style is wild
or when they lose balance a little bit, because I could capture that movement.
Somehow #3 Yuutaro is photogenic even though doesn’t fit either of those instances.

#25 KondohYuusuke + Yamaha YZ250F / Rd.3_3rd Rd.4_4th
#25 Yuusuke Kondoh placed second overall including the result of final cross on the third day.
He changed his machine from a 2st125 to a 4st250 this year.
As you’d expect of him , he did great saying that he loves muddy situations like this.

#25 KondoYuusuke + Yamaha YZ250F / Rd.3_3rd Rd.4_4th
He is really small.
But you can’tell when he is riding.
He control his body really well and pushes his machine forward and forward.

#25 KondoYuusuke + Yamaha YZ250F / Rd.3_3rd Rd.4_4th

#6 OhtaMasanari + KTM 250EXC / Rd.3_5th Rd.4_2nd
When it comes to wild riding style I would mention #6 Masanari Ohta
who finished in fifth place in R3 and second place in R4.
But he isn’t so good this year.
He seems to be struggling to claim a victory.

#6 OhtaMasanari + KTM 250EXC / Rd.3_5th Rd.4_2nd
#6 Masa Ohta rose to the top of KTM after he placed fifth in R3 and second in R4.
Most of these riders that I mentioned this time belong to YAMAHA.
I guess this is the result of putting so much effort in endure.

#10 IzumiTac + Beta RR4T 125 LC / Rd.3_10th Rd.4_10th
#10 Taku Izumi placed tenth in R3 and R4 with an off road motorcycle 4st125cc machine
that is made for street.
As usual He used trial rear tires that are ok to use on public roads.
I think this is a really great result.
He produced a good result with this kind of setup,
these days with big power machine like 2st250cc and 300cc becoming prevalent.
Given the bad weather and hard course setting, I thought he would barely finish,
but he captured tenth place even he lost the rear brake on the first day.
He amazed me in final cross which is all about speed,
where he held tenth place part of the way.

#10 IzumiTac + Beta RR4T 125 LC / Rd.3_10th Rd.4_10th

#18 KosugeTaiki + Yamaha YZ125
