S1 pro class is the biggest race in Japanese Supermoto Championship.

There are other classes also, such as S2 class (250cc class) and unlimited S1 open class.

 
 

日本のスーパーモトの最高峰は、S1 pro class です。

その他には、250ccクラスのS2 class、排気量無制限のS1 open classがあります。

The feature of each classes.

S1 Open Class allows for unlimited engine displacement but 450cc is the most prevalent.

KTM690 and Husqvarana SM511 participated in this class sometimes though.

In S2 Class you need technique to drive a powerless, lightweight machine.

To do that you need to drive with as few mistakes as possible.

 
 

各クラスには特徴があります。

S1 open は排気量無制限ですが、実際は450ccのマシンがメインです。

スポットでは、KTM690やKTM500などが参戦しています。

S2 classは250ccのマシンのクラスですが、

軽量でパワーの少ないマシン（※）を速く走らせる技術が必要となります。

そのためには、ロスを少なく走るのがポイントとなります。

 

※パワーが少ない：とは言ってもかなりのパワーで、体感的には数字以上のパワーがあります。

S2 class / 250cc

#2 Ryousuke Nakaki won with this R4 in S2 class.

He posted the best time in time attack,

and in the final race he started from the pole position

and saw the checkered flag with sustaining any attacks.

He took two wins in a row, even though he just joined from R3 in Fukushima.

He ranks number two in points for now.

 

その250ccクラスに勝ったのは#2中木亮輔選手（埼玉）。

タイムアタックからトップタイムを出し、予選レースでも勝利、決勝レースはポールポジションからスタートし

そのまま一度もアタックを受ける事無くチェッカーを受けました。

こういうコースは得意ではないでしょうか。

R3の福島では新マシンのフレーム剛性の高さに足回りのセットが決まらず

悪戦苦闘していましたがなんとか勝利。R3の福島からの参戦ですが、これで２連勝です。

ポイントランキングは現在２位。

#23 Yoshiki Kitai won this S1 Open Class.

He is one of top rider in All Japan Motocross IA-1.

He doesn’t lay his machine down that much when he turns a corner.

 

このオープンクラスに勝利したのは、#23北居良樹選手（大坂）。

#23北居ヨシキ選手は全日本モトクロスのIA-1に参戦するモトクロスのトップライダーです。

無理をせず、しかし効率良くタイムを出す走りを見せました。

マシンをあまりバンクさせずに曲がる走りが特徴です。実はこれ、とても重要なポイントです。

 

あ、8月の末にはモトクロスのR7 SUGOが行われますよ〜。

His riding style is very similar to motocross.

 

その#23北居ヨシキ選手です。モトクロス的なライディングフォームですね。

ここではそうでもないのですが、１コーナーなどはしっかりブレーキングし無理にマシンをバンクさせない

ライディングをい見せていました。

また奥のフラットダートでも、１速上のギアを使いトルクで走らせ

非常にスムーズなライディングを見せていました。

S1 PRO class #2 Ikki Morita.
 
 

#2 Ikki Morita won S1 pro class Race 1.

It was really hot that day. The temperature was over 35 celsius.

I think it’s over 45 celsius on the road surface.

 

S1 pro class Race1に勝った#2森田イッキ選手。

これがスタート前のグリッドで待っているときです。

暑いんですよ〜。首になにかあてていますが、ここを冷やすことで体温を下げています。

 
 
 
 

S1 PRO class #1 Kiyoshi Saai.
 
 

This is #1 Kiyoshi Saai who had a fierce battle with #2 Ikki

and he is taking in FIM ASIA Supermoto Championship this year.

However he hasn’t accomplished good results yet.

It seems like he has some reasons.

I’m thinking about conducting an interview about this in the near future.

こちらはその#2イッキとバトルを展開した#1佐合キヨシ選手。

今年からFIM アジア スーパーモト 選手権に参戦していますが

なかなかいい成績を出せずにいます。

これ、いろいろ理由があるんですよ・・・（苦笑。

佐合選手の力不足とは言い切れないんです。

これもいつか具体的にレポートしたいですね（でも書けないことがいっぱいあるんですよね〜　苦笑）。

 
 
 
 

S1 PRO class #5 Makoto Arai.
 
 
The 17 year old who grabbed his first victory in Race 2.

He belongs to CP sports known for Yassy Matsumoto who’s from the same hometown “Nagano.”

Kaneko Family is also from the same area.

They all used to ride the Italian Husqvarna (not the current Husqvarna) and won this round in Hiroshima.

Yassy and Ryuta were indebted to this Italian Husqvarna.

So that’s why they tried to win with SMR449 and TC449 too.

#5 Makoto wanted this win so badly because he has been watching these veterans.

For him, it meant more than just the winning his first victory.

 

Race2 で初勝利をあげた新井マコト選手です。

CPスポーツ所属です。CPスポーツと言えばYassy選手です。同じ長野市の生まれ育ち。

同じ長野市の、生まれ育ちには金児親子がいます。

全員がイタリアンハスク（現在のハスクバーナではなくイタリアにあったときのハスクバーナ）で戦い、

Yassy選手も金児リュータ選手もこの広島で勝っています。

 

この全員がイタリアンハスクにお世話になり、また各選手がこのイタリアンハスクで一人前になった。

その意味でもこのメーカーと、日本の輸入元であるMVアグスタジャパンを愛していました。

まるで全体が大きなファミリーのような感じです。

 

ですから、戦闘能力が落ちたSMR449やTC449でも勝利を目指しました。

不利なのはわかっているのですが、これで勝つという強い意志で戦ってきたのでした。

そういう意味でも、今年#5をつけたマコト選手はここでの勝利が欲しかったわけです。

また、レースは今年で最後になる可能性が高いのもあります。

#5マコト選手のSMJフル参戦は今年で最後になるかもしれないようです。

理由は、実家を出ての進学。

 

人生はいろいろなので、アレですがもったいないとも言えます。。。

プロという道が確立できないと、Yassyに金児リュータ、そしてマコトと、すばらしい能力が他の世界に行ってしまいます。

His body was really small back then.

I never thought that he’s going to rise and win in this top class, even though I caught a glimpse.

身体も小さかったです。

このときにはもう片鱗が見えていましたが、まさかS1 proで勝利するところまで行くとは。

 
 
 
 

S1 PRO class #7 Tomoyoshi Masuda a.k.a Jaws.
 
 

He developed YZ2450F and 4st which has been popular these days.

Masuda and Saai and Ikki established Supermoto sports in Japan with their achievements.

Supermoto Japan is the fruit of these riders and Hiroyuki Yoshizawa who left the world suddenly.

Yamaha, with Masuda as the rider, developed the main machine.

 

Jawsこと#7増田智義選手（静岡）です。

今では一般的となったYZ450Fなどの4stモトクロスマシンの開発ライダーをしていたのが

この増田選手です。

日本にこのスーパーモトスポーツを確立させたのは、この増田選手や佐合選手、そしてイッキ選手らの

努力によるところが大きいです。

今このスーパーモトスポーツが楽しめるのは彼らの努力があります。

 
 
 
 

S1 PRO class #12 Ryota Akamine
 
 

#12 Ryota Akamine from Okinawa placed 4th in Race 1 and 5th in Race 2.

This Supermoto has been actively carried out in Okinawa nowadays.

 

沖縄から参戦したのは#12赤嶺リョータ選手（沖縄）。

Race1 ４位。Race2 ５位という結果。チョット惜しい。ここは得意なんです。

今沖縄でもこのスーパーモトが定着しています。

いつか沖縄に取材しに行きたいです。赤嶺選手そのときはヨロで〜す。

 
 
 
 

S1 PRO class #300 Naoto Takayama.
 
 

It’s about Naoto Takayama when it comes to #300.

He crashed in the dirt section while riding to set up his machine the day before.

He injured his elbow (it seems like he suffered some broken bones) and cancelled the race.

Sometimes I get emails asking, “Do the riders in motocross wear racing leathers?”

The answer is that they actually wear racing leathers under the motocross wear.

Some of them wear motocross wear because of the sponsorship commitments but in Japan

you have to put racing leathers on no matter what.

So that’s why they wear racing leathers underneath.

 

#300と言えば高山ナオト選手（群馬）です。

前日土曜のマシンセットアップの走行中にダートセクションでクラッシュ。

肘を怪我（当日の診断ではじん帯損傷でしたが、どうやら骨折で全治３ヶ月だそうです）し

レースをキャンセルとなりました。

写真は土曜日の走行中のものです。

「応援に来たのにいな〜い（涙）」という方がいらっしゃったようですが

ハイ、なんとも・・・。

 

あ、モトクロスウェアで走っている選手はレーシングウェアを着ていないのですか？」

という質問をいただきます。

これは実はこのモトクロスウェアの下に革のレーシングウェアを着ているんです。

There was a test ride event on the same day as well.

So, we ‘Krazy” took a test ride in RC250 .

当日は試乗会も行われました。

乗りましたよ〜、

公道での先導付の試乗だったんですが、途中からペースが上がり、後ろがついていないっていう

かなり楽しい試乗でした。

KTM広島様ありがとうございました。

インプレはまた近いうちに。

（RC 250よかったですよ〜。前傾姿勢がやや苦手なので、そこだけはアレでしたけど）

 
 
 
 
 

 
 

Saai published Supermoto with a truss frame that he made in Hiroshima.

The frame is the original made by Saai Racing, using Saai Racing CRF 450 for the engine and the suspension.

This is the only racing machine for Supermoto exclusively used in Japan.

I sure do want write about the impressions that I got from this machine one day.

 

そうそう。広島と言えば佐合選手のつくったトラスフレームのスーパーモトです。

フレームはオリジナル、

エンジンや足まわりはCRF450です。

これ、一度は乗ってみたかったなぁ。日本製のレーシングにつかえる唯一のスーパーモト専用車両なんですよね〜。
